We’re proud to announce that we’ve been awarded Shanghai’s Top-100 Cultural Activities Award!
Yeah, we’re as surprised as you are!
We were really blown away by this as most of the other winners were more traditional Chinese cultural activities like Beijing Opera, Art Museums, and Traditional Crafts like Paper-Cutting. The more we thought about it though, the more we realized that STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) really is becoming the culture of the next generation!
See our founder, (Cindy) Huang Wen Jing, being put on the spot by an ICS reporter:
What does this all mean?
Well, we’ll be getting a really cool award, but we’ll also be putting on more classes. A lot more classes! Since we’re now recognized by the Shanghai Municipal Cultural Bureau, we’ve been added to the database that the public schools and community centers are permitted to use for their activities.
We’ve signed up a couple dozen classes at the event, and are now scheduling 360 classes for the Year of the Rooster. That’s a really lot, so we’ve also added a couple new positions to help us though this busy year!
Our goal is to open the mind of every child that we can get access to – to teach them to be curious, foster exploration & experimentation, and most of all to not be blind to the wonders of the world all around us!
We are really humbled by this vote of confidence from the government and will honestly do our best to be the valuable part of Shanghai culture that they think we are.
If you’d like to work with us to emulate what we have done here in Shanghai in another part of China, or even in another country, please don’t hesitate to Contact Us. We’re always interested in connecting with people as passionate about children’s education as we are!
